Torrance Daily Breeze (newspaper), Oct. 27, 2015

This was the A1 front cover of the Torrance Daily Breeze newspaper, designed for the Los Angeles News Group (which also includes the Los Angeles Daily News). The main centerpiece package was about an influx of craft breweries in the South Bay region of Los Angeles and incorporated display art as well as graphics. Done on deadline.

Telefilm Supplement, Variety Magazine, September 2015

This was an advertorial supplement that Variety produced in collaboration with Telefilm Canada during the Toronto Film Festival. I produced the whole standalone section in about 16 hours. It was given to me when I was putting together the daily editions for the film festival -- and had one editor to work with. I did the layout, design, photo selection & processing, and pre-flighting. This supplement also ran in the regular weekly Variety magazine.

Custom logo sticker done for country musician Dorsie Fyffe Jr.

This was a custom promotional sticker designed for country musician Dorsie Fyffe Jr. I conceptualized it and designed it, and had it custom-printed. The stickers measured about 4" tall. The lettering was meant to evoke the old Hatch Show Print posters. The star indicates where Dorsie is based, which is California, and also doubles as the "dot" in "dot-com," which is what his website was (dorsiefyffe.com).

These are examples of business cards that I've designed over the years for a variety of projects that I've been involved with or freelance clients I've worked with. Some of the businesses are still active; others are not.

Variety, Venice Film Festival Edition 2014

This is one of the 12-page daily editions that was produced by Variety during the Venice Film Festival in 2014. I was responsible for the design and layout of each daily edition, as well as shipping the pages to the printer in Italy utilizing online FTP software. This one was 12 pages, done on deadline, with live art, live stories, live reviews and some pre-planned feature content. I also was responsible for photo selection and retouching, as well as the events calendar.
